When we began to make ice cream away back in 1982, it was part of our family grocery business, but as its popularity grew we knew it needed an identity all of its own. The head of the family business at that time was called Maud and that sounded just perfect and so on Mother’s Day 1982 the very first Mauds Ice Creams sign was erected over the shop in Carnmoney! When we first began to make Mauds Ice Creams we decided that we would never compromise on quality. Right from the start we only sourced our raw ingredients from top producers. Our fresh milk and cream came from local farms and we imported the finest flavours from all over Europe. That was well over 21 years ago but some things never change - we still believe in making only the finest.
Nowadays, we make Mauds Ice Creams in a bright new production facility filled with latest state-of-the-art ice cream machinery, but we are still using the best local ingredients available and have developed close relationships with a number of quality food producers across Europe. Our producers supply Mauds with a large range of fruits and delicious confections to add to our basic recipe to produce a mouth-watering range of flavours.
